Formed in 2018 by lead guitarist, singer, and songwriter David Kirkpatrick, Two Tone Pony was born from a desire to write, perform, and record original Australian music. Their sound boasts a diverse repertoire that ranges from acoustic ballads to soaring country rock, heavily influenced by early pioneers like The Byrds, Gram Parsons, and Emmylou Harris, coupled with the rock edge of Neil Young, Tom Petty, and The Rolling Stones.

'Born On The Road' & Touring After a highly successful 2023 playing to enthusiastic crowds from Adaminaby to Charleville, the band kicked off 2024 at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. That same year marked a major milestone with the release of their debut album, Born On The Road. Featuring standout singles like "Caroline" and "Going Back," the album made an impressive debut at #11 on the ARIA Country Charts.

A New Chapter in 2026 Following a brief sabbatical in early 2025 and the retirement of founding songwriter Ian Rhodes due to hearing concerns, Two Tone Pony has returned with a fresh dynamic. The band—which includes Graham Puglisi (bass), Glenn Willey (keyboards), and Greg Richardson (drums)—recently welcomed multi-instrumentalist Brandon Smith. Bringing fiddle, lap steel, mandolin, guitar, and vocals to the mix, the new lineup is breathing fresh life into their older tracks while currently recording new material set for release in 2026.
