The Weeping Willows are a premier Australian Alt-Country and Americana duo, comprised of decorated storytellers Andrew Wrigglesworth (guitar, ganjo, lead vocals) and Laura Coates (lead vocals). Known for their fascination with the "dim-lighted byways of a fallen world," they weave tales of ghosts, jilted lovers, and the desolate into singular tapestries of sound. Their music is defined by timeless country-folk instrumentation and unmistakable, creamy vocal harmonies that have drawn comparisons to the luminous likes of Gillian Welch and The Secret Sisters.

The duo first swept onto the stage with their celebrated debut album, Till The North Wind Blows, in 2012. Since that release, they have firmly established themselves as songwriters of captivating power and poise, rising to become leaders in Australia’s bustling Alt-Country scene. Their commitment to the craft has seen them shortlisted for the prestigious APRA Professional Development Awards three times (2017, 2019, and 2021).

The Weeping Willows have built an impressive trophy cabinet, taking out the 2021 CMAA Golden Guitar for Instrumental of the Year and racking up ten Golden Guitar nominations to date. They were also named Best Country Act at the 2021 Music Victoria Awards and Duo/Group of the Year at the 2021 Australian Folk Music Awards.

Their reputation as a world-class live act has taken them from Port Fairy Folk Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival to international stages, including AmericanaFest and Folk Alliance International in the USA, and the Maverick Festival in the UK. Along the way, they have supported industry heavyweights such as Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Iris DeMent, Hayes Carll, and Shane Nicholson.
