Originally from Cloncurry in North West Queensland, Penny Burke is a talented regional Australian songwriter known for capturing the essence of honest storytelling. Stepping onto stages at just 12 years of age, she quickly developed a grounded country style that feels both intimate and expansive, carried by a warm, unmistakably Australian voice.
Penny first made her recording mark in 2004 with her debut EP, Local Pub, produced by acclaimed musician Stuie French. After taking some time away from the studio, the undeniable pull to share the stories that had been quietly building over the years has brought her back to her songwriting roots, returning with a renewed sense of purpose and authenticity.
This deeply personal new chapter in her musical journey is highlighted by her highly anticipated full-length album, Always Be There, set for release in December 2026. Inspired heavily by the unwavering support of her fiancé, Graeme, the project features close collaboration with industry stalwarts David and Merelyn Carter (Carter & Carter). With a steady rollout of new singles throughout the year, Penny continues to deliver songs about family, resilience, and celebration that are sincere, heartfelt, and unmistakably Australian.
