After raising three kids and walking away from national TV fame, Liam Maihi is stepping back into the spotlight with a voice honed by life, love, and small-town grit. Hailing from the coastal town of Sussex Inlet, Liam’s music lives where country meets blues and rock—big-hearted, soulful, and built on the stories of everyday people.

Music was woven into the fabric of Liam’s early years, from watching his father play a battered guitar to performing impromptu gigs in his mother’s hair salon. His passion eventually led him to the Grand Final of The Voice Australia (Season 4) in 2015, earning him a national following and slots at major events like the Big Country Festival alongside Lee Kernaghan and The Wolfe Brothers. However, instead of chasing the industry grind, Liam chose to step back and focus on what mattered most: being a dad.

Now, nearly a decade later, Liam is back with more to say than ever before. He officially marked his return with the release of his debut single, "Whiskey and You" (July 2025). Recorded with Nashville heavyweights, the track is a rich, rootsy nod to the nervous energy of a first date with his now-fiancé, signaling the start of a long-overdue new chapter.

Liam’s live show feels like a "honky tonk down under"—high energy, authentic, and made for the crowd. His ability to connect is undeniable; before even releasing his debut single, he sold out a 200-capacity room in Richmond, played to hundreds in Kangaroo Valley, and was added to the Kickin’ Country lineup in Penrith. For Liam Maihi, this isn’t a second shot—it's simply picking up where he left off, with a clearer head and a fuller hear
